Spring Semester
Returning or Picking Up Laptops and Hotspots Laptops and hotspots can be checked out at the Learning Commons from 10am – 4pm, Monday – Friday. If you are enrolled in classes during the Spring, laptops and hotspots will be due on May 17th. If you are not enrolled in the Spring, they must be returned by 4pm on Monday, January 11th to avoid fines. Quiet Study The Learning Commons is open for quiet study Monday-Friday, 10am – 4pm. Reserve a seat.

The Learning Commons is located in the Library Lower Mall and features individual and collaborative study space, PC computing, peer assistance at the Student Help Desk, and Assistive Technology software and machines. There are 83 desktop computers in the Learning Commons including five workstations with Assistive Technologies, a closed-circuit television (CCTV), and Sorenson Video Relay Service. Services are limited to registered students, staff, faculty and alumni.

Student Help Desk: Technology support for student, staff and faculty
We are the primary resource for all your technology needs (Blackboard, Horizon, MyCSUEB etc.). Whether you’ve just run into a recent computer problem or are looking to learn how to use the available technology resources better, we can help. There is no issue too small, so don’t be afraid to send us an email (stsc@csueastbay.edu) or come visit us in the Library Learning Commons directly across from Starbucks. Commons After Hours
- Late night study space in the Learning Commons
- Monitored by a Campus Security Officer and by video surveillance
- A valid CSUEB Bay Card is required to enter and at all times while inside
Study Late at San Francisco State and San Jose State
Current CSUEB students, faculty, and staff have access to the extended study hours at San Francisco State and San Jose State. You must be currently enrolled or employed at CSUEB and bring your Bay Card.
- San Francisco State University Extended Hours
SFSU Research Commons is open 24 hours, 7 days a week except holidays and breaks. See https://library.sfsu.edu/hours for current library hours. To get a card to use the extended hours, you must bring your Bay Card to the SFSU help desk before 10 pm.
- San Jose State University Extended Hours
SJSU Library is open to students 24 hours Sunday-Thursday, except holidays and breaks. See https://library.sjsu.edu/library-hours/library-hours for current library hours. To get a card to use the extended hours, you must bring your Bay Card to the SJSU circulation desk before 11 pm on Monday-Thursday or before 7 pm on Sunday.
PC desktop computers
- Limited to registered students, staff, faculty and alumni
- Self-service, just sign in with your NetID and password
Print Only or Quick Email Check computers
- A valid CSUEB BayCard is required
- Time limit of 15 minutes
- Available only when all other computer workstations are occupied
Wireless Network
- Up-to-date anti-virus software is required to access the campus wireless network

Printing
- Public printers are available in the Library Lower Mall, Library Upper Mall and Learning Commons
- Pay for printing with your CSUEB BayCard
- $0.08 per page for black and white
- $0.24 per page for color
