Using the Libraries

Tabletop Games Collection

The purpose of Cal State East Bay's Libraries' Tabletop Games Collection is to develop and encourage community building among students from a variety of backgrounds. Gaming provides an opportunity for all kinds of people to meet and get to know one another through the facilitation of game play.

This purpose corresponds to the university's strategic commitment to: Foster a vibrant community through enriched student services and student life that support student engagement and learning.

Currently, the Library offers at least one game day per semester in addition to special de-stress events that make use of the games collection. Student clubs and other campus units may also use the games collection for events and programs.

If you are a student, staff, or faculty at Cal State East Bay, you can now borrow games and bring them home to play. These games can be picked up on the short shelves next to the children's books and then taken to the Checkout Desk to be borrowed. Up to two games may be checked out at a time for a one-week period with a one-time renewal. Please double, triple-check to make sure all parts are back in the game before you return it. Thank you!

Contact Jeffra Bussmann (jeffra.bussmann@csueastbay.edu), the Gaming Librarian, for any questions, suggestions, or if you would like to plan a gaming event.
