OneSearch Library Catalog
Start with the OneSearch library catalog to find books. If you want to see online/ebooks, after you’ve searched for a book/topic in the OneSearch library catalog, use the “Refine my Results” panel on the left, and select "Full-text online" under Available at CSUEB and "Books" in the Resource Type section.
CSU+
CSU+ is a free service that students, faculty and staff may use to borrow books from other CSU libraries. Requested books are usually delivered to the Hayward campus within 2-4 days, or can be mailed to your home.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
If the book you want isn't in the OneSearch library catalog or available from CSU+ then you can request the book for free via InterLibrary Loan (ILL). Log on with your NetID and password and fill out the request form. To make sure that you get the requested item as quickly as possible, give as much of the publication information as possible including: Author, Title, Publisher, Date and Place of Publication. Contact us if you need any help with finding a book! Be aware, they usually have a shorter loan period.
Use the Subject Guides to see which databases our librarians have identified as relevant for each major or go to the Research Databases list and sort by Subject.
When you have identified an article database you would like to search, use keywords, descriptive words, or subject words to search for relevant articles. If possible, limit your search to "peer-reviewed" or "academic" journals.
When you already know the citation information (author, article title, journal title, date of publication, volume number), you can search for the article title in OneSearch Library Catalog. To find out if the library has access to a specific journal or newspaper, do a journal search here.
Search for streaming videos by title or topic in OneSearch Library Catalog. After you conduct a search, you can filter to videos by selecting "video" under the Resource Type section on the left side bar. You may need to click "show more" to expand the alphabetical list of filters.
We also provide access to several video platforms, including Films on Demand, Swank, PBS, Alexander Street Press, and Kanopy. You can access these databases from the Databases A-Z page, or explore the Streaming Video @ Your Library guide.
