Using the Libraries

Learning Commons

The Learning Commons is located in the Library Lower Mall and features individual and collaborative study space, PC computing, peer assistance at the Student Help Desk, and Assistive Technology software and machines. There are 83 desktop computers in the Learning Commons including five workstations with Assistive Technologies, a closed-circuit television (CCTV), and Sorenson Video Relay Service. Services are limited to registered students, staff, faculty and alumni.

Student Help Desk: Technology support for student, staff and faculty

We are the primary resource for all your technology needs (Blackboard, Horizon, MyCSUEB etc.). Whether you’ve just run into a recent computer problem or are looking to learn how to use the available technology resources better, we can help. There is no issue too small, so don’t be afraid to send us an email (stsc@csueastbay.edu) or come visit us in the Library Learning Commons directly across from Starbucks. Don’t forget to check out our FAQs for help.

Commons After Hours

  • Late night study space in the Learning Commons
  • Monitored by a Campus Security Officer and by video surveillance
  • A valid CSUEB Bay Card is required to enter and at all times while inside

PC desktop computers

  • Limited to registered students, staff, faculty and alumni
  • Self-service, just sign in with your NetID and password

Print Only or Quick Email Check computers

  • A valid CSUEB BayCard is required
  • Time limit of 15 minutes
  • Available only when all other computer workstations are occupied
