The services below are for the beginning of the Fall Semester and may be revised along the way, according to CC County COVID-19 protocols.
Fall Semester 2020, the Concord Campus Library physical space will be closed until further notice. We are working towards making the space safe by following Contra Costa County social distancing protocols. Most of the CSUEB Libraries services are available online.
The Concord Campus Library consists primarily of circulating books, including course reserve items (textbooks). Access to most circulating materials are housed at the Hayward campus and can be obtained through requesting an item via the library catalog and our paging system (courier service).
Online access to databases is available 24/7 to authorized users (i.e., with your netID and password). If you need help finding information, our reference services are available online 24 hours/day and 7 days/week.
The Concord Campus Administration is providing study space and wifi access in the computer lab in Contra Costa Hall that is prepped for social distancing.
The Concord Campus Union has also been configured for social distancing and has good wifi access.
They will monitor use and will add more areas as the situation warrants.
When you find a book you need in the Library Catalog, SIGN IN with your campus netID and password and then you can click on the REQUEST button to have it sent from Hayward or CSU+, to the Concord Campus Library. You have the choice to pick up library materials at the Hayward or Concord campuses, as well as via mail. Books requested via CSU+ as well as any located in the Concord Campus Library will be made available in the same way.
To pick up books at the Hayward Campus Library go to the courtyard in front of the entrance to the Library, M-F. If you have items sent to the Concord Campus Library, you will receive an email letting you know when they are available to pick up at the Academic Services counter. For more information on requesting books, please see our FAQ.
For a chapter scan, please submit an ILL request or email ils@csueastbay.edu with book title, author, year of publication, edition, chapter/pages.
We hope to provide some textbooks in our Reserves Collection for check-out. These will be for the Concord Campus classes.
DETAILS:
All library books can be returned either in the Concord Campus Library's book drop, or at the Hayward campus library's book drops (located in front of the entrance and those located at the basement level). You may return your books to another CSU campus closer to you. Books will be in quarantine for 4 days before we check them in.
