Using the Libraries

Visitors

The CORE building on the Hayward Campus and the Concord Center Library are open and accessible to members of the public during each building's open hours.

Computer Access

Visitors can use desktop computers designated for public use in the CORE building and the Concord Center Library, as well as use the guest wifi network. Please ask library staff for the locations of the publicly-accessible desktop computers and review the Library's Computer Use Policy.

Parking Information

If visiting either the Hayward campus or Concord Center by car, visitors will need to purchase a daily or hourly permit at a parking kiosk. For more information about short term parking options, see CSUEB's Parking and Transportation department's information about Hourly/Daily Parking Permits.

The Cal State East Bay's Visitor Information webpage provides additional information for visitors, including maps, driving directions, and details on how to use public transportation and the campus shuttle service to get to campus.

Access to Materials

Visitors are able to use publicly accessible materials at either campus library while in the building. If you are looking to borrow materials from either the Hayward or Concord library collections, please see our Community Borrowers webpage. Please note that off-campus access to the Library's electronic resources and our Interlibrary Loan services are only available to current students, staff, and faculty at Cal State East Bay.

If you are a student, staff, faculty or alum from another CSU campus, you may check out CSUEB materials provided that you have the following:

  • A valid ID from your home institution
  • Proof of current registration, class schedule, documentation of current employment or current alumni association membership status (A course syllabus will not be accepted as verification of current enrollment)

Final approval of CSUEB Library privileges is at the discretion of the CSUEB Library Access Services staff.
