Reservable Rooms in the CORE

The Cal State East Bay Libraries are committed to creating a welcoming, safe, inspiring, and engaging learning environment in the CORE Building. There are many spaces in the CORE that can be reserved by Cal State East Bay community members for teaching, learning, and community building.

Drop-in Rooms in the CORE
Several spaces in the CORE are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  • Family Friendly Study Room (Floor 1, Study Room 1-1)
  • Lactation Room (Floor 1)
  • Turkey Vulture Room - Silent Study Room (Floor 3, Room 326)
  • Meditation Room (Floor 3, Room 329)

Group Study Rooms

There are 4 Medium Study Rooms (capacity 10-12) and 30 Small Study Rooms (capacity 5-7) available in the CORE building. Any Cal State East Bay student, staff, or faculty member can reserve a study room.

As of January 9, 2023 check-in is required for all study room reservations

To request a study room reservation, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Study Room online reservation system
  2. Select the date and time you would like to use a study room
  3. Sign in with your netID and password
  4. Review your reservation details and click the Submit my Booking button
  5. You will receive a confirmation email with the date and time of your reservation
  6. Check-in via the link within the confirmation email between 15 minutes prior and 15 minutes after your reservation start time
    • Example: If your reservation is from 3 PM - 5 PM, you must manually check-in between 2:45 PM - 3:15 PM
    • If you do not check-in by 3:15 PM, the entire 3 PM - 5 PM reservation will be revoked and available for anyone to book it. Rebookings are allowed provided another user does not book it first.

Please note: Failure to check-in will result in the reservation being canceled.

Study Rooms can be reserved for up to 2 hours a day and up to 2 weeks in advance.

Each Study Room includes:

  • an enclosed study space for group study
  • a whiteboard and markers
  • table and chairs

Presentation Practice Room

Room Number: 204 (Coyote Mint Room)
Location: Second Floor North
Capacity: 15

The Presentation Practice Room is a technology-enabled room with computer and video equipment. It is designed as a space where students can practice and record classroom presentations. It also can be used for technology workshops.

The Presentation Practice Room includes:

  • mounted camera
  • green screen and TV
  • computer with video editing software

Reservation Information

  • The Presentation Practice Room can be reserved by Cal State East Bay students, faculty, and staff
  • Reservation requests can be made one week in advance for up to 4 hours a day through the library’s online reservation system
  • Reservations will only be approved for people/groups who need to utilize the equipment in the room; it is not available as a reservable study room
