Prepping Your Materials for Cutting
Cutting Your Design
- Please follow the directions within the Design Studio to set-up the Cricut to cut your design
- If you have any questions at all, please ask any Makerspace Staff Member.
- Remember to mirror your design if you are cutting text on Iron-On Transfer material or Infusible Ink for the Mug Press.
- If you have uploaded your text design as an SVG and the letters are moving around when the preview of the cut is being shown, cancel and go back to the design space. Click Attach in the bottom right corner and this will keep the text in the correct order for cutting.
- Once the Cricut begins cutting, please do not touch the machine until it is finished–the on-screen instructions will let you know when it is done.
Weeding Your Design
- The Library provides Cricut tools to weed (aka remove) extraneous materials from your design after cutting is completed.
- These are located in the holder on the top of the Cricut Maker.
- If you have questions on how to use the tools, please ask any Makerspace Staff Member.
