Consumable materials are any materials that are used in a project that cannot be reused (i.e., they are consumed by the project). Examples include infusible ink for the mug press, button-making supplies, etc.
Some consumable materials are provided by the Library. Please see below for quantities and daily maximum use. The Library has these limits to ensure that everyone is able to use the Makerspace.
Materials and Quantities Provided by the Library
- Each quantity below is the maximum amount that can be used in one day by one Makerspace user.
- If you have questions, please ask any Makerspace Staff Member.
Iron-On Transfers
- One sheet of iron-on transfer
Stickers (Waterproof and Regular Sticker Sheets)
Buttons
- 1 button pack (this includes the materials to create 10 buttons)
Vinyl
Mugs and Infusible Ink
- One mug
- Infusible Ink sheet that will produce one mug transfer
Laminator
- One large or two small pouches
Using Your Own Materials
- For some projects, you are welcome to bring in your own materials to use.
- If you bring in your own materials for the projects listed below, you can potentially make more in one day than the limits for projects using Library materials.
- Makerspace Staff reserves the ability to limit time on Makerspace equipment if there are other Makers waiting for the equipment/machine being used.
- Makerspace Staff must verify materials are compatible with the equipment in the Makerspace for some of the projects listed below. If you have questions, please ask.
- You must provide original packaging with the materials so a Makerspace Staff Member can verify compatibility.
- If you have questions, please ask an Makerspace Staff Member.
Sewing Projects
You are welcome to bring the materials below to use for your project:
- Fabric
- Thread
- Sewing notions including: pins, thread snips, bobbins, seam ripper, etc.
Knitting/Crochet Projects
You are welcome to bring the materials below to use for your project:
- Any type of yarn
- Your own needles, counters, etc.
Iron-On Transfer Projects
You are welcome to bring the materials below to use for your project:
- Clothing items for the iron-on transfers
- Cricut Iron-On Transfers
- Note: Makerspace Staff must verify that you are using Cricut Iron-On Transfer Materials to ensure compatibility with the Makerspace equipment
Vinyl Projects

- Cricut Vinyl
- Note: Makerspace Staff must verify that you are using Cricut Vinyl Materials to ensure compatibility with the Makerspace equipment
Mug Projects
You are welcome to bring the materials below to use for your project:
- Mug blanks: Must be compatible for sublimation, poly-coated, 11-16 oz, straight wall only, 82-86 mm in diameter
- Cricut Infusible Ink Sheets
- Note: Makerspace Staff must verify that you are using compatible mugs and/or infusible ink sheets to ensure compatibility with the Makerspace equipment

- Lamination pouches
- Pouches cannot exceed 13 inches in width
- Pouches cannot exceed 5 mil in thickness
