How to Use the Makerspace

Who Can Use the Makerspace?

Note: All Makers must complete the in-person orientation and safety training before using the Makerspace equipment. Some equipment requires additional training for certification.

  • All are welcome to use the Makerspace after in-person orientation and safety training!
  • This means students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members!
  • Community members must be at least 18 years old to use the Makerspace.

Is there a reservation system for the Makerspace equipment?

  • At this time, the Makerspace equipment is available on a first come, first served basis. In the future, we may implement a reservation if it is needed.

How long can I use the Makerspace equipment?

  • The Makerspace is a place for prototyping and not production, which means that we want to ensure that everyone can use the equipment. Because of this, there are limits on how much of each type of consumable any Maker can use per day. If you have questions, please ask any Makerspace Staff member.

What if I want to bring in my own consumable supplies to make a bunch of stuff?

  • If you would like to bring in your own consumable supplies to make a larger run of items, please contact the Makerspace Staff at (insert contact info) so that we can coordinate a time for you to use the equipment for a longer period of time and also confirm that the supplies you are bringing are compatible with our equipment.
