Troubleshooting Tips

If you are having trouble viewing an online video from the Library, first try this:

  1. Try watching the video in a different browser. For example, if you are in Internet Explorer or Safari, then try Chrome or Firefox.
  2. Clear the cache/cookies of your current browser. Be sure to close all active browsers and try again.
  3. Enable Flash in your browser (some films require Flash to play).
  4. Try logging into you Library account (the top right of the OneSearch results page) or another Library database with your NetID in a different tab in your browser, then try opening the video from OneSearch.

Please note that some films will not play outside of the U.S. even after logging in with your NetID.

If the above suggestions, do not work, use the Report A Problem link on the video record in OneSearch to get help.

More Troubleshooting Information

Unfortunately:

  • Some video producers do not allow their videos to play on Apple products. If you are having problems playing the video (after you have logged in with your NetID) AND you are on an Apple device, try to watch the video on a Windows or Android device.
  • Some video producers do not allow videos to play on mobile devices. Try to watch the video on a desktop or laptop.
  • You can always come to the Library to watch the films on a Library computer. We have headphones that you can borrow. Or, you can check out a laptop from the Library

If the tips above do not work, use the Report A Problem link in the video record in OneSearch for assistance.
