Free and open access to World Bank data about development in countries around the globe--data, charts, maps, etc.
OECD
Search "environment" for data, research, outlooks and country reviews on biodiversity, water, resource and waste management, climate change, global warming, etc. Search "Sustainable development" for a book arguing for development based on three-pronged progress in the economy, society and the environment.
Environmental Protection Agency
All things environmental in the U.S.
Public Policy Institute of California
Search their "publications" tab for global warming, energy, water, etc.

GENERAL database. Large collection of newspapers for the latest in current thinking and events.
CQ Researcher
GENERAL database. Provides reports on environmental topics of interest to the U.S. government.
Films on Demand
A number of excellent videos on environmental issues can be found in this database.
