When you find a source, it's important to take notes on what you have learned about it. You don't want to have to flip through a long article every time to find the most important bits of information.
Often this means creating an annotation - which is a short summary of the source, as well as how it was useful to your research project.
Purdue OWL suggests the following ways to think of an annotation:
- Summarize - short summary of your source
- Assess - was this a helpful source for your project? how so?
- Reflect - how does this fit into my project?
