Student Assistant
Library Administration Offices (CORE 246)
What is your favorite part about the CORE library?
I love all the services that we provide students in the Core. From the tutors that can assist students in the SCAA, to the various spots within the building that students can use to study, to the technology that is available for students to check out with Learning Commons employees. I also love all of the different events we throw for students throughout the semester.
What do you do throughout the week working in the administration office?
Throughout the week, I mainly answer questions that any students or visitors may have. Typically, students come in with questions about our study rooms. On some occasions I work with our building coordinator, Johnny, to help get spaces around the building ready for events.
Are there not well-known services or facts about the Core library that you wish more people knew about?
Before I started working at the CORE, I did not know about the meditation room on the third floor. It is a great space that students can utilize if they ever need a break from the stress of studying for classes or exams.
Do you have a favorite study spot at the library?
I have always wanted to use one of our reservable study rooms, however they do fill up fast, so instead I make use of the common areas on each floor. I like that each floor has different noise levels, so no matter if I'm studying with friends, or need a quiet space to do work on my own, there are designated spaces with that in mind.
