by Library News on 2020-10-20T17:39:38-07:00 | Comments

Cal State East Bay University Libraries is pleased to present our first OA Week Student Competition! The winner will receive a $50 gift card and the runner up will receive a $35 gift card.

To participate, watch/read at least two of the suggested materials talking about open access and paywalls and create a response to one or both of the prompts below:

  • Prompt 1: Tell us about a time you hit a paywall and how it impacted your ability to learn.
  • Prompt 2: Imagine a world in which research can be accessed openly (i.e. not behind a paywall). What do you think this would do for research, discovery, and/or collaboration?

Responses can be in any style you choose and should be as creative as possible! Submissions need to be original works either written, visual art, video, etc. and accessible to CSU East Bay Libraries for review online. The submission form will include a link to upload your work.

Please submit your materials using the Submission Form by Sunday 11/1/2020 at 11:59pm.
