New Library Catalog will replace LINK+ and QuickSearch

by Library News on 2017-06-01T09:10:05-07:00 | 0 Comments

This summer, the libraries will release a new Discovery System — OneSearch — that will replace QuickSearch, the Library Catalog, and LINK+.

OneSearch features an intuitive, mobile friendly interface that makes it easy to find, cite, save, and share books, ebooks, ejournals, articles, and streaming videos from the CSUEB Libraries.

OneSearch will include CSU+, a new book sharing system for entire the CSU. With one click, CSUEB students and faculty will be able to request a book from any CSU library to be delivered to our circulation desk within 2-3 days.

To make this change, we will have to discontinue our participation in LINK+. The last day to request a book from LINK+ will be May 26, and the last day to return LINK+ books will be June 25. We know that many of us will miss LINK+, but CSU+ will give us access to a broader range of academic content. While only 11 CSU libraries currently belong to LINK+, all 23 CSUs will join CSU+, and it will include over 29 million academic books. Of course, you still will be able to request any book not available in CSU+ through Inter-library Loan.

Key Dates

  • May 26 — Last day that CSUEB users can request books from LINK+
  • June 13 — OneSearch will be released
  • June 25 — Last day to return LINK+ Books
  • July 10 — First day you can request books through CSU+

Between May 26-July 10, you can request any book that CSUEB doesn't have through Inter-library Loan.

Training from the library on OneSearch and CSU+ will be available at Back to the Bay in September. Our Access Services Team [(510) 885-3612, circservices@csueastbay.edu] always is happy to provide assistance with Inter-library loan requests.

Please feel free to contact John Wenzler [510-885-2188, john.wenzler@csueastbay.edu] with any questions, concerns, or requests about this or any other library matter.
