CSU East Bay Honors Convocation: Honors Graduates - Message from the Provost

Dear HONORS GRADUATES,

On behalf of the faculty at Cal State East Bay, I would like to congratulate you on your superior academic record. You will be graduating with distinction this year, and this is a remarkable and commendable accomplishment.

As you know, the university would normally recognize you at Honors Convocation. While we cannot celebrate in person because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the university is committed to honoring your achievements.

Very soon, you will be receiving an honors medallion along with the honors program that celebrates you and your classmates’ great work in the classroom, laboratory, studio, and clinic. The medallion is a symbol of academic accomplishment at Cal State East Bay and we hope that you will wear it with pride at your Commencement ceremony once a future date is scheduled.

I also want to thank all of you who have worked on campus as student employees or provided community service in our region, or participated in student government, clubs, and organizations. You make East Bay great and you will forever be part of our community.

In the meantime, I hope you will celebrate your honor with your relatives, friends, supporters, and over your social media channels. Please tag Cal State East Bay and the Alumni Association @csueb and @csuebalumni so we can also recognize your achievements with our extended campus family.

Again, congratulations on reaching one of the pinnacles of academic success, and on the upcoming completion of your degree. We will miss you as great students, wonderful contributors to the campus, and dedicated learners. My best wishes to you and those near you for your health and safety.

Go Pioneers!

Sincerely,

Edward S. Inch
