Technology in the library
Service Description
Printing
Public printers are located in Library Lower Mall, Library Upper Mall and Learning Commons. You can pay for printing using your Bay Card.

Wireless/Wired networks
To access the campus network from a PC laptop you need to have McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise or any of the following Anti-Virus Programs recommended by “Safe Connect” ;

Help with Technology
Visit the Learning Commons for laptop configuration and basic assistance with Microsoft Office applications. You may also contact the Information and Computing Services HelpDesk for assistance.
Accessible Technology
Accessible workstations with large monitors, scanners, and a variety of software are available in various Library locations.
CSUEB Computer Use Policy
The computer use policy for Cal State East Bay. This policy applies to all library technology.
Computer Labs
The Database Center is located on the lower mall of the Library.
The Learning Commons is located on the lower mall level of the library.
Other computer labs are located throughout the campus.
Computers & Software
The Library has over 50 computers in our Database Centers and Haystac Island (public use PCs), and over 100 computers in the Learning Commons (NetID required. Includes PCs and Macs). All computers have unrestricted Internet access and include the full Microsoft Office suite. Specialized software is available in the Learning Commons.
Laptop Checkout
All laptops are loaded with the Microsoft Office Suite and can access the campus wireless network. Laptops are available for four-hour check-out.
Eligible students may participate in a quarter-long laptop loan program.
Multimedia Equipment
(sound/video)
The Library’s collections include VHS, DVD and streaming video, cassette tapes and vinyl records. We have equipment to view/listen to these materials, as well as quiet viewing/listening rooms. See Media Resources & Reserve Services for more information.
Photocopying
Black and white photocopiers are located on the library upper and lower mall levels.
Scanning
Scanners for PC and Mac are located in the Learning Commons.
