Gmail Configuraton

IMAP setup for Horizon email

Synchronize your NetID password:

Go to http://www.csueastbay.edu/netid, click on Students and click on Change your NetID password.

Put in all the information and check the box titled “Students: Check this box to synchronize your NetID password with Horizon powered by Google.” Click on reset my password.

Enable IMAP in Horizon:

  1. Log in to the horizon account.
  2. Click Settings at the top of the page.
  3. Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
  4. Select Enable IMAP.
  5. Click Save Changes.

Configuring clients:

For client configuration including PDAs go here but use the connection information from below

Connection Information:

This is common for all clients:

Your Name: Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the From: field of outgoing messages.

Email Address: Enter your full horizon email id – xyz2@horizon.csueastbay.edu

Incoming mail server (IMAP): imap.gmail.com

Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com

User Name: Enter your full horizon email id – xyz2@horizon.csueastbay.edu

Password: Enter your NetID password

Disclaimer : Some devices will not connect, due to the configuration of the device.
