Taking a Bite out of Textbook Costs

- “For Rent Textbooks” to register for this program
- “Textbooks and Course Materials” to follow the prompts and find the textbooks for your classes. You need to know your class no. & section for this.
NOTE: Starting in fall, 2010, there are more textbooks in the library thanks to the Graduation Initiative program
Accessing Textbooks in the Library
Method 1: Check Course Reserves
- Search by course name or Instructor for
o professors’ copies of textbooks
o library books your professor has asked us to put on reserve
NOTE: If your textbook’s not there, you may email your professor to ask if s/he can put a copy on reserve
Method 2: Check the Catalog
- Go to the library’s homepage, search by the title of your textbook
o if there’s a copy in the “book stacks,” you can find it on the shelf and check it out
o if there’s an electronic copy, you can click through to view it online
Method 3: Check LINK+ if our library doesn’t have it
- Click “Repeat Search in LINK+” if you are already in the catalog
OR
- Click “More How-tos” under the “How to…” section of the library’s homepage
- Click “Get it if we don’t have it”
- Then click “LINK+” and search by title
- if your textbook is available for borrowing, you can request it by clicking “Request this Item” and filling out the required information
NOTE: LINK+ books arrive in 3-4 business days and can be checked out for 3 weeks
