Marco Polo

A subset of the larger Henry H. Hart Collection, these specialized volumes books pertain to the 12th century Italian explorer, Marco Polo. One of the first Europeans to return from China and other parts of South and East Asia, Marco Polo, described the geography and culture of these hitherto unknown regions to Europeans.

Collected by Henry Hersch Hart as part of his extensive, life-long interest in Marco Polo and European exploration. Dr. Hart, himself, wrote extensively on Polo, and was a noted scholar in this field.
