Student Success Library Workshops

This is a guide to the Library's Uhour Information Literacy Workshops, held every Tues and Thurs during the semester from 12:15-1:15pm.

The Library offers Student Success Workshops designed to help students navigate and use information sources. Topics include doing library research, evaluating sources, citing sources, and more.

Navigate through the semester schedules of workshops using the toolbar on the left to see when and where workshops will be held and how to register for them. Workshop announcements will also be made through BaySync.

Library Research 101: Finding Books and Articles for Free

Learn to search the Library databases for books and articles for your homework assignments and research projects.

Library Research for Transfers/Upper Division Students

Learn to effectively seek and find peer reviewed articles, data sets, community-led studies, etc. for more complex research topics and longer papers.

Learn the Secrets to Evaluating Your Sources

Learn to discern whether the information you find online, in a book, in a magazine, or anywhere in the world around you is useful for your purpose whether you are writing a paper, finishing a homework assignment, or researching for your own interest.

Citations & Academic Integrity: What You Need to Know

Learn about academic integrity, how to avoid plagiarism, and the basics of source attribution. MLA and APA citation formats, including in-text citations and works cited/reference lists, will be covered.

Drop-In Library Research & Citation Help

Need a hand with finding sources of information for an on-going research paper or project? Have questions about your works cited, references, or in-text citations? Stop by to talk to a librarian about it.

APA Basics in 30 Minutes (or Less!)

Need to use APA 7 for your papers and research projects? Join us for this 30 minute workshop covering the basics for APA in-text citations and reference lists. Leave with tips, tricks, and tools that will help you nail your APA citations!

Learn Zotero: Citation Management Tool

Learn how to use the free citation management software, Zotero, to create bibliographies and share resources lists with group project team members, study partners, classmates, or colleagues.

Finding, Interpreting & Using Digital Archives

Learn about archival resources that are available to you online and how to locate and use them for your research papers, group projects, or presentations.

Escape from the Mad Scientists’ Lab

In this escape room, your goal is to find the secret code to get out of the scientists lab. Beware! Misinformation and deception are everywhere. Use your skills to solve puzzles and figure out the mysteries of the lab.

Take A Break With Games! 

Need a break from studies? How about playing some games? Come to our virtual zoom room to play some tabletop games. You will only need a smartphone or computer to join in the fun.
