Images of the Sixties Counterculture in the American Southwest
Benjamin Klein (Lecturer, History) will discuss his research on a series of black & white photographs taken by his uncle, Irwin Klein, during several visits to northern New Mexico between 1967 and 1971.
Dr. Klein is the editor of Irwin Klein and the New Settlers: Photographs of Counterculture in New Mexico (University of Nebraska Press, 2016), winner of a Southwest Book Award (2016) from the Border Regional Library Association. He has also published in New Mexico Historical Review, Casa Vogue, and ReThinking History: Theory and Practice.
